To ensure an engaging program, we offer students a rich selection of courses that will provide opportunities to explore their interests and challenge them to reach new academic heights.

Required Courses: English/Language Arts, Humanities, Math, Science, Physical Education, Music/Art/Drama, Design, Future Ready and Spanish A (fluent speakers) or Spanish B (acquiring fluency)

What is Middle School advisory?
Advisory’s main purpose is to meet the unique social and emotional needs of adolescent students in middle school.The program is designed to support and guide students in the areas of:
- Gaining confidence
- Developing independence
- Managing and understanding emotions
- Inclusion and FDR’s core values
- Developing a growth mindset
What are the goals of advisory?
- Creating a sense of community
- Building positive relationships
- Deepening an understanding of the habits that support learning
- Developing a stronger sense of self to allow each student to be their “best self” (from RULER™)
What is the model of delivery for advisory?
Each day begins with a 25 minute advisory period with a group size that is smaller than academic classes. The lessons are intentional and organized while allowing for group discussions and flexibility. Students engage in discussion and activities to accomplish the goals and objectives of Advisory.
